Lasagna Style Casserole

INGREDIENTS:

6 oz. lg. bow tie pasta, about 2 1/4 c.
1 lb. ground beef or ground pork
1 (15 oz.) can pizza sauce
1 tsp. dried minced onion
1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1 beaten egg
1 c. Ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 (4 oz.) pkg. (1 cup) shredded Mozzarella cheese

DIRECTIONS:

In large saucepan bring 8 cups hot water to boiling. Add pasta. Reduce heat slightly. Cook in gently boiling water from 8 to 10 minutes or until tender. Drain.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet cook ground beef or pork until brown. Drain off fat. Add pizza sauce, onion, and basil to browned meat; mix well.
In a small bowl, stir together egg and ricotta or cottage cheese. In a greased 12 x 7 1/2 x 2 inch baking dish layer half of the pasta. Spoon ricotta mixture over pasta. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Layer remaining past, meat, cheese. Bake covered at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 to 8 minutes more. Serves 6.
