Ingredients

* 1 pkg lasagna noodles
* 1 1/2 lbs ground turkey or beef
* 1/2 green bell pepper, optional
* 1/2 onion, optional
* Jalapeno peppers to taste, optional
* 1 can diced tomatoes
* 16 oz shredded mixed Mexican cheeses
* 6 slices American cheese
* 1 jar taco sauce
* 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
* 1 1/2 tsp garlic salt
* 1 1/2 tsp black pepper
*

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Boil noodles until just slightly firm. In a skillet, brown ground turkey or beef. Add peppers, onions, diced tomatoes and seasonings. In a 9 X 13 baking pan, layer noodles, meat mixture, Mexican cheese and taco sauce. Repeat layers until pan is full. In one of the center layers, use American cheese instead of or in addition to the Mexican cheese. For topping, make a layer of noodles, cheese and taco sauce only. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes, remove foil, and bake 10 minutes longer. Allow to rest 15-20 minutes before serving.
